Mastodon llevan varias semanas encerrados en los Southern Tracks Studios de Atlanta, a unas pocas millas de sus casas, grabando su próximo nuevo álbum, que verá la luz en los primeros meses de 2009.

Para esta nueva grabación Mastodon han confiado la producción al afamado Brendan O'Brien (Slayer, Aerosmith, Pearl Jam, Rage Against The Machine, KoRn, Audioslave, Bruce Springteen).

Mastodon están contentos de cómo está fluyendo todo en el estudio. El grupo tiene previsto antes de editar este esperado disco (del cual aún no han desvelado el título) realizar una extensa gira por toda Europa durante el otoño e invierno de 2008.
